Inverleith on course to take pole position

-

Inverleith’s quest for a fifth indoor first division championship now depends on victory over Dundee Wanderers as likely opponents in today’s semi-final clash at Perth.

The actual line-up will not be determined until this morning’s final pool matches are completed, but Inverleith have already qualified and only need a point against Grange to secure pole position.

Wanderers are second in the other pool, with Grove Menzieshill favourites to remain top on goal difference if they can first see off Clydesdale.

The other semi-final could also be a fascinating contest between the structured approach of Menzieshill and cavalier tactics of Kelburne. Champions Menzieshill lost their unbeaten record last weekend, and will be without four players – Gavin Byers, Ben Cosgrove, Cameron Golden and Aidan Mcquade – all in Malaga on Scotland business.

Scotland defeated Wales 2-0 in Gran Canaria to go three up in the five-match series with one game to go.
