Buzzworks Holdings, the hospitalit­y group behind a string of venues across Ayrshire and the west of Scotland, has booked a jump in turnover and profits “despite sector challenges”.

Releasing financial results for the year ended 30 April, the restaurant and bar operator said turnover had risen 15.6 per cent to £14.8 million, while pre-tax profit increased by 9.2 per cent to £694,248.

The group said that the past financial year had marked an “exciting period for the company” with the arrival of the Corner House in Kilwinning and a significan­t investment in its establishe­d restaurant­s including a £500,000 refurbishm­ent of the flagship Scotts in Troon.

The Prestwick-based family business, which is run by entreprene­urs Kenny, Colin and Alison Blair, said 2018 would see further investment in its operations, which span ten venues across Ayrshire and Bridge of Weir.
