#GRAMMYAWARDS

At the Grammys, Hillary Clinton, along with John Legend, Cher and others, took turns reading passages from Michael Wolff ’s book Fire and Fury, on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Donald Trump Jr mocked Clinton. @Donaldjtrumpjr said: “Getting to read a #fakenews book excerpt at the Grammys seems like a great consolation prize for losing the presidency.” @Arevamartin added: “This was the absolute best moment of the night. Hillary Clinton, Cher, Snoop and others read ‘Fire and Fury’ excerpts at 2018 Grammys.” @Sociallysherri said of Clinton’s appearance: “I can’t tell if it’s a step up from signing books in the milk aisle of Costco or just a lateral move? Either way #Shesnotourpresident.”

#PRANKACIDATTACK

In a recent video, 22-year-old Arya Mosallah can be seen throwing water in people’s faces on the streets of London. At a time when data from the Metropolitan Police has shown a sharp rise in the number of acid attacks in the city, many people have found his video inappropriate. @Bashsuperior said: “Given the rise in acid attacks of late, I find this to be extremely disturbing. The ‘Youtuber’ is aware of the current climate and has chosen to exploit that for some kicks. @Youtube should take action against him and definitely shouldn’t allow him to profit off causing distress.” @cole_eliot added: “I lost an eye to an acid attack – alkali, actually, worse – and you’re right, this is horrendous. If this person was brandishing a toy gun to joke terrorise people, the police would be called in to manage the situation. This is no different.” @misssychelle tweeted: “This isn’t funny but no one said it was an ‘acid attack style prank’. He said he was throwing water on people in his intro – equally I understand where the participants’ fears come from.”

#PARISFLOODS

Flooding in the French capital has overtaken yearly averages with the water level of the River Seine rising to 5.85 metres. @edentranslate said: “No more rain please.” @Brooklynptgal added: “Oh how sad!” @Physicssteve added: “I’ve never seen the Seine anywhere near this high before. Some walkways are totally covered.”
