A Scottish fabricator of quartz glass has secured a sevenfigure funding package to support its growth aims.
Quartztec Europe, which operates a 50,000 square foot manufacturing facility in East Kilbride, is targeting expansion in its key markets in Europe and North America.
The business, which ranks as the largest fabricator of quartz glass in the UK, was formerly a Heraeus flagship site, and operated under the Multi-lab Quartztec brand until October 2015. Its key sectors include semiconductor, solar and fibre optic. Quartztec Europe has a 35-strong team at the site specialising in fields including technical sales, computer-aided design, production control and manufacturing.
Ron Jackman, director at Quartztec Europe, said: “Our key markets are in Europe and Northamericawhichiswhere we are targeting our growth. We have a clear strategy in place so it’s an exciting time for the business and our team.”
The funding was facilitated by Mark Young, director of SME cashflow finance, and Thomas Mcpake, commercial relationship manager, at Clydesdale Bank’s customer banking centre in Glasgow.
Young said: “Assisting an innovative and ambitious business, such as Quartztec, realise the next stage of its growth strategy is exactly what our SME cashflow finance offering is designed for.
“As the leading manufacturer in the UK, it’s extremely well-respected in its field and we are looking forward to working with the business as it looks to grow its market share in its key locations.”
Jackman added: “The team at Clydesdale … demonstrated a willingness to ensure that the facilities put in place support both our immediate, medium and longer-term strategies.”
