Flap over flag

Outraged opponents of a region’s new flag have hit out, branding it ‘ugly’, ‘communist’ and ‘like an outer Mongolian third division football team.’ Sutherland’s new emblem features a red and yellow eagle and three stars. Obvious, really.

Hideous flag design explained: “The panel eventually chose three winners with the final design an amalgam of all three.” A camel is a horse designed by a committee.

I know you know

So no-one entered the chosen design, it’s just bits of the ones they liked. With 328 entries, which I hope weren’t predominantly from primary schools, I suspect they could have found something more distinguished.

This is just another example of how common purpose is chipping away at anything which ties an identity to Scotland. Tiny bit by tiny bit, they dismantle our nation state and identity.

Like the colours. I guess the red represents the red deserts of Sutherland and the yellow its relentless burning sun... And the killer chickens.

In fact Sutherland is much further north than “Outer Mongolia” – a better description would be Siberia. What the flag does show is a complete lack of imagination, mullets!
