Knives in Hens

Perth’s magnificently restored theatre reopened for business just before Christmas, and now director Lu Kemp launches her 2018 season with a welcome revival of David Harrower’s internationallyacclaimed 1995 debut play, Knives In Hens. In an archetypal rural community almost untouched by modernity, a young woman married to a ploughman finds herself drawn to the local miller, who introduces her to a world of words, books and ideas from which she finds there is no way back. Award-winning young Scottish actress Jessica Hardwick stars as the young woman, with design and lighting by Jamie Vartan and Simon Wilkinson, acclaimed for their work on the Lyceum’s Bondagers in 2015.
