Pensioner’s body found near beach
An 81-year-old man’s body has been found on a public footpath in Leith.
Police were called to Seafield Road about 10:40am yesterday following concerns for a man lying on the ground.
Ambulance crews raced to the man’s aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police confirmed an investigation was ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death, which is being treated as unexplained.
A cordon remained in place late yesterday at the site near the Seafield Road Retail Park.
