Migrants charge doubles for NHS

-

A plan to charge migrants twice as much to access the NHS has been branded an “outrageous and cynical” attempt by the UK government to shift the blame for its handling of the health service.

The immigration health surcharge is paid by people from outside the European Economic Area who are seeking to live in the UK for six months or more to work, study or join family.

The charge will rise from £200 to £400 a year, while the discounted rate will increase from £150 to £300.
