Teacher accused of sexual abuse of former pupils

A primary school teacher charged with a string of sexual abuse charges against former pupils made his first public court appearance yesterday.

Gerald King, 65, is accused of using lewd practices towards six school children while he was a teacher at St Martha’s Primary school.

The charges span from 1 August 1983 to 30 June 1989 at the school in Glasgow’s Balornock area. The offences are alleged to have been committed against four boys and two girls.

King, from Springburn, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
