Fisherman dies after falling off North Sea boat

A fisherman has died after falling from a boat off the north of Scotland.

The man was said to have been helped back on board by other crew members, but did not survive the incident north of Cape Wrath around 8:40pm Monday.

Police said all other crew members were uninjured. The man’s family have been informed.

Detective Inspector Scott Macdonald said: “Our investigation is at an early stage and we are working with the Marine Accident Investigation Branch to establish the full circumstances. A report will go to the Procurator Fiscal.”
