What a result and performance against dundee. County came alive in the second half and a little bit of a confidence boost snowballed into something more seismic – Saturday was a real statement that the Staggies can get out of this.

Despite conceding four goals on Wednesday, the back four looked good enough and they were fine again here, with some no-nonsense clearances to avoid the amateurish mistakes that had kept occurring. Dundee’s equaliser was against the run of play and the team looked shell-shocked for a few minutes after that, but the tide turned shortly afterwards. Alex Schalk set the tone by working like a Trojan, then taking two goals with aplomb. He needed to start more often and proved his point well this week.
