Motherwell Success at a price

-

The day-to-day work off the pitch, now overseen by Alan Burrows, has been the key to Motherwell’s financial stability. It is therefore no surprise he has been quietly mentioned in connection with the vacant post at the SFA.

Also mentioned, somewhat more loudly, is Leeann Dempster – now at Hibs. A Scottish Cup win and promotion seem to be her main credentials, but it is worth noting Hibs, despite their success, have still been losing money.

Motherwell fans will remember that, under Dempster, we managed three consecutive top three finishes and lost money every season. Presumably, therefore, it is the manager’s job and not that of Hampden chief executive that would be her strength.
