Coetzer hits first T20 ton

-

Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer last night scored the first T20 century of his career.

Coetzer, currently playing in Hong Kong’s Twenty20 Blitz, was the star of the show as his City Kaitak side overpowered HK Island United at Mong Kok.

The Aberdeen-born batsman faced just 65 balls to reach the landmark, stroking 13 boundaries and three maximums.

He shared a century stand with Anshy Rath and another of 69 with England’s Ravi Bopara before being out for exactly 100 as Kaitak rattled up 195-4.

In reply, United were held to 169-9.

Coetzer will next month lead Scotland in the World Cup qualifying competition in Zimbabwe.
