Deal to sell Wigan to Hong Kong firm

Wigan owner Dave Whelan has agreed in principle to sell the Sky Bet League One club to the Hong Kong-based International Entertainment Corporation. Whelan, 81, who bought the Latics in 1995, has entered into an exclusivity agreement with IEC, whose main business interests lie in the hotel and casino industry.
