The Pittsburgh Penguins scored five straight goals to deny the Vegas Golden Knights’ goaltender Marc-andre Fleury victory against his former team. Fleury returned to Pittsburgh for the first time since being taken on by the Golden Knights last year and was given a warm welcome by Penguins fans. But, despite taking the lead early on in the game, his new team failed to overcome the home side, and were defeated 5-4. A late goal from Nicklas Backstrom with just 42 seconds left in the game clinched a win for the Washington Capitals over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Backstrom scored on a one-timer for his 200th NHL goal, powering the Capitals to a 3-2 victory.
