Morton Three in a row

- Andrew Ward

It’s three wins on the bounce in all competitions for Morton, as momentum continues to grow. Gary Oliver netted a last-minute winner against Dunfermline on Saturday to secure all three points, firing the Ton back into the play-offs.

This performance was certainly not to the standard of the previous weekend, which saw the Ton run riot against Dundee United, but three points is three points. Saturday’s victory now leaves Jim Duffy’s men in fourth spot, and only six points behind second-place United. Next up, it’s another break from league action as the scottish cup takes centre stage. dumbarton will be hoping to cause an upset, but with the form the Greenock side are in, a place in the last eight of the cup is expected.
