Opening doors: Glasgow School of Art key up for sale

Charlotte Riordan, a specialist at auction house Lyon and Turnbull, holds up the key used to open Glasgow School of Art in 1899 which is now up for grabs at auction. The special key was used during the opening ceremony of one of architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s most beloved designs, the Glasgow School of Art, in 1899. The key was presented to Sir James King the former Lord Provost of Glasgow.
