Man in court over murder charge

A man has appeared in court charged with murder following the death of a man in South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to a property on Holyrood Street, Hamilton, at about 6:45pm on 26 January after the body of James Murray, 24, was discovered.

Alan Richardson, 23, was charged with murder when he appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court yesterday.

He made no plea, was committed for further examination and then remanded in custody.
