Losing history

Interesting! So the City of Edinburgh Council is considering taking some control over the number and quality of hotel rooms on offer in Edinburgh. Perhaps this will lead to the masterplanning and subsequent direction of the way in which retail and restaurant provision is allowed in the more sensitive and historic streets. The city is at risk of having the very things visitors wish to see being eroded by developments that are thought to be what visitors need, rather than letting them experience the real living city that is a pleasure for residents and visitors alike.
