Women in politics

I was infuriated with [Labour MP] Emily Thornberry’s impassioned plea for more women in politics last week.

We don’t need more men, women, disabled, transgendered, black, gay or lesbian or whatever equality box is needing ticked this month. We need people who are capable of doing the job of an MP, selected on their merit, people who will put their country before their own ambitions.
