Record half for employee relations specialist

A firm specialising in employment law, HR, and health and safety, with offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, has reported a record first half and unveiled strategic hires.

Law At Work (LAW) has seen a 30 per cent yearon-year jump in revenues to £1.48 million in the six months to November.

Growth was attributed to the acquisition of new clients, including Border Biscuits and Shetland Arts Trust, increased demand for health and safety support, as well as employment law, mainly because of the changes around employment tribunals fees.

The HR At Work team, boosted by the acquisition of Square Circle HR in 2016, has expanded to include senior HR consultant Lynn Lavelle, while Michael Moran has joined Safety At Work as manager.

Additionally, the group’s employment law division achieved 15.6 per cent organic growth in turnover during the half.

Magnus Swanson, chairman of LAW, said 2018 “is on course to be one of our most successful years yet”.
