Cash injection: Medical device specialist secures £33m funding boost

The Japanese owner of a medical device company based in Renfrewshi­re has unveiled investment of £33 million in the Scottish subsidiary. The funding from Terumo Corporatio­n will enable Vascutek to expand its headquarte­rs and manufactur­ing facility in Inchinnan, where it has about 800 staff, with site developmen­t to complete in 2021. Paul Holbrook, president and chief executive of Vascutek, said: “This is an extremely exciting time for the company as we look to secure further growth in the surgical grafts market.”
