Arrest after woman’s hand severed

A man has been arrested after an alleged assault which saw a woman’s hand severed.

Emergency crews were called to the incident on South Road, Dundee, around 8am on Wednesday.

It is understood the victim suffered an injury to her hand, but the extent of the damage is not known.

Detective Inspector Tom Leonard said: “A 32-yearold man has been arrested in connection with the incident and I would like to reassure the public that there is no wider threat.

“Our inquiries are at an early stage.”

GLASGOW
