We’re all lobsters

-

Is columnist Ayesha Hazarika serious (Perspective, 14 February)? First she claims to know that the 9,000 year-old Cheddar Man was an immigrant simply because he had a dark complexion and then asserts that since “10 per cent of the genome of many white British people alive today comes from this man’s dark-skinned population” all British people are therefore immigrants.

By this logic we are all also lobsters. Having made these wild claims she then, without irony, states that “we seem incapable of having a sensible, responsible and factually based discussion” about the issue. It seems not.
