Unfair to Trump

Where was the moral outrage of Richard Leonard, Patrick Harvie and the rest of these anti-trumpers (“Scots antitrump visit group meets”, 14 February) when Chinese president Xi Jinping was about to visit Scotland last year?

Xi Jinping was “elected” by the 89 million members of the Communist party deciding for more than 1 .5 billion people. The same Communist party that has massive human rights violations, regularly imprisons Christians and opposition leaders and severely crushes any kind of dissent.

On the other hand, Donald Trump was elected by more than 60 million Americans free to choose whoever they want. He has not violated the US constitution, put no opponents in jail or suppressed freedom of the Press. The double standards of this group is unbelievable. PS AIKEN
