Rettie & Co names director of lettings in ‘strategic’ hire move

- By SCOTT REID

Property firm Rettie & Co has named its new director of lettings as it looks to further strengthen its “one-stop shop” asset management offering.

Karen Turner, a former property director at Pagan Osborne, the Fife law firm that collapsed last year, is being tasked with growing the private client and institutional base while building Rettie’s lettings business beyond its traditional strongholds in Edinburgh and Glasgow.

She will work closely with head of private rented sector and build to rent Hazel Sharp Webb, who joined the firm last year. Rettie & Co has around £1 billion worth of residential assets under management, including advising on more than 3,000 prospective new units for private rent.

Managing director Simon Rettie said: “Karen’s appointment marks a significant strategic appointment as the business enters its next phase of growth.

“We see Karen bringing a different approach to the lettings side of the business and her hire illustrates our ambition to build on the asset manage- ment approach we already offer clients.

“Karen has strong connections within the Edinburgh and Scottish property market and has great experience working with both private clients and larger portfolios for corporate investors.”

Founded in 1993, Rettie & Co and has around 130 people working across ten offices in Scotland and England.
