Man, 58, found unconscious in street

A man was found seriously injured and unconscious on a street in South Lanarkshire.

Police were called to Fernhill Road, in Rutherglen, after the 58-year-old was discovered at 6.55am yesterday.

Emergency services attended to the man’s injuries at the scene before he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where medical staff described his condition as serious.

Police confirmed the incident and said that inquires were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
