Man hospitalised after gang goes on the attack

Police have appealed to the public after a man was seriously assaulted by a gang while out with his wife.

At around 11.10 pm on Staurday, a 30 year-old man was walking along Limonds Wynd, near to Kings Court in Ayr with his partner when he encountered three young males by an underpass.

After a short conversation the three males then started to punch the man to the ground. Another three males then appeared, with two of them also beginning to punch and kick the 30 year-old man. The injured man was taken to hospital where he is being treated.
