Inquiry after victim found outside bar

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being discovered unconscious outside a bar in Ayrshire following an attack.

Police were called to a report of the man lying unconscious outside a bar in Largs, North Ayrshire, early on Sunday.

The emergency services attended The Lounge bar on Main Street at 1.10am and the man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment to a serious head injury.

He has since been transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where staff describe his condition as serious.
