Four killed in church gun attack

Four people have been killed and several others injured in a gun attack on a festival crowd in Dagestan in southern Russia.

The Russian Interior Ministry said the assault happened in the city of Kizlyar,a provincial capital in the Republic of D agestan. the gun man opened fire with a hunting rifle at a group of people leaving church. The shooter was also killed.

The four fatalities were all civilian women leaving the church, according to local law enforcement.

People were celebrating the end of the Russian festival of Maslenitsa, which marks the start of Lent in Orthodox Christianity.
