#OXFAM

Following the Oxfam sex abuse report Scottish Tory leader Ruth Davidson gave her blunt view on the situation during a candid interview on Peston on Sunday. @pestononsunday posted: “’The lowest circle of hell’ @ Ruthdavidsonmsp does not hold back in her criticism of international helpers who allegedly used their position to exploit the most vulnerable #Peston.” @Toryreformgroup backed their Scottish leader: “Brilliant and important defence of 0.7% aid commitment from @ Ruthdavidsonmsp on #Peston. We cannot allow the Oxfam scandal to undermine the work done, and lives saved, by our aid spending.” @Pop9juan wrote: “Ruth Davidson lays into Oxfam bc a handful of its aid workers abused their position - and ignores the immense good the overwhelming majority of Oxfam workers do.”

#MORRISSEY

Morrissey has received a backlash from some Scottish fans on social media after criticising First Minister Nicola Sturgeon. @Tomjaff added: “Morrissey asking “Do you actually like Nicola Sturgeon?” at a gig and someone responding “Scottish politics is none of your business” was definitely a highlight of last night.” @Bethsuniquebead said: “I would have given him a round of applause .... walk out indeed. Seriously!” @cultfree54 wrote: “Even Scots like me are scratching heads at why concertgoers are so touchy about Sturgeon. I doubt if their Manchester or Newcastle counterparts could care less what Morrissey thinks of any English politico.”

#CURLING

GB’S match against Sweden at the Olympics ended in controversy with calls for video replays to prevent what happened to Team GB happening in the future. @misterjex posted: “Err, what’s just happened in the #curling? CLEARLY let go of that stone before the line. Either a double touch or that’s even dodgier than #VAR in the #HUDMUN game last night! #olympics.” @Hdleigh added: “Think we’ve just seen justification for VAR in Curling! Muirhead clearly let go of that stone in time, something else went wrong there! #Winterolympics #curling #VAR.”
