Out in the cold
I note a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth about Elise Christie’s “misfortunes” during the Winter Olympics. Taking into account the athlete’s dubious record from Sochi, one wonders just how much of this “misfortune” Ms Christie brings upon herself?
As I see it, much of her “misfortune “seems to occur when she is moving through the field of competitors to try to reach a challenging position.
Lastly, on the subject of balanced media coverage, not much sign of sympathy for the Chinese athlete Christie “took out” in the 1500 metres, presumably ruining the latter’s Games at the same time.
