Mcinally sees spark of improvement while Murphy demands better from his defence

were signs that things were clicking together again. We know that we need a win to get back on track and if we build on Saturday’s display then we will have a chance of getting it.

“Annan have had a similar spell and they will be after the points just as much as they will want to get back into the top four, so it will be tough.”

Mcinally’s numbers have been boosted as Willie Gibson will make the short trip from his home in Dumfries to Galabank to be involved after a ban. Jamie Stevenson is back after an injury and Jack Leitch is available after illness.

Nicki Riley and Paul Cairney remain out with Simon Ferry unlikely to be risked on the artificial surface.

Annan are also on a run of four games without a win and have fallen nine points off the play-off chasing pack as a result.

Manager Peter Murphy said: “We brought in five new boys in January and have also had a number of players out injured so it has been an unsettling period. “Hopefully things will settle down as we need wins to get back into the top four.”

Murphy added: “If Peterhead can get up and running, they are a side that can score goals so we need to defend better than we did against Stirling as we helped them on their way to a 3-0 win on Saturday.”

Steven Swinglehurst and James Creaney are Murphy’s injury doubts for this one.
