Man, 24, dragged out of vehicle in carjacking raid

A 24-year-old was dragged out of his vehicle by two males in an attempted vehicle robbery outside a retail park in Midlothian.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened at about 7:25pm on Monday outside the Carphone Warehouse store at Straiton Mains.

Although the men failed to steal the car, they stole the victim’s wallet.

Detective Constable Laura Bowie said: “This was an unprovoked attack, with the victim showing extreme bravery to prevent the suspects from stealing his car.”
