#BREXITEERS

Theresa May has been told by more than 60 Conservative MPS they will no longer support her Brexit plans if members of the Cabinet agree today to keep Britain too closely aligned to the European Union. @Kevinturveyrip said: “The deal offered by the #Brexiteers 18 months ago was significantly different to what’s on offer now, but I choose not to split hairs.” @Haggis_uk suggested: “Rupa Huq hits the nail on the head... The 62 hardline #Brexiteers have effectively written a ransom note but they’re not only holding a gun to an enfeebled prime minister’s head but to the whole country given the Gov. no longer have a majority.”

#CORBYNTHESPY

Jeremy Corbyn’s personal security may have been put in danger by political opponents branding him a terrorist sympathiser, a spokesman for the Labour leader said yesterday. The comment came after Mr Corbyn accused newspapers of spreading “lies and smears” about his alleged links with a Czech intelligence agent in the 1980s. @Harryslaststand posted: “When Tories drag out false smears about Corbyn and Communist spies, remember that many Tory MPS are bankrolled by the entitled to fight for the privileges of the few over the many.” @Robadl3r countered: “@jeremycorbyn keeps deflecting the answer. Like all good left-wing politicians... they don’t like the truth or reality. It’s all ideology to them. Just a simple yes or no to educate the voting public on your past historical socialist link.” @Jond99 said: “BBC News: KFC running out of chicken is more important than the leader of the opposition being accused of spying.”

#BILLYGRAHAM

Known as “America’s pastor”, Reverend Billy Graham met every US president from Harry Truman to Barack Obama. The evangelist died yesterday, aged 99. @Eugene_scott posted: “Billy Graham may have been the last high profile bipartisan evangelical leader. Not sure of another leader since him who has had the ear of top politicians on both sides of the aisle.” @Abc7autria added: “Did you know? Rev Billy Graham has been on Gallup’s list of Most Admired Men & Women 60 times, more than any other individual in the world.”
