Uppies and Doonies battle for the Ba’ and Borders bragging rights

Men chase after the leather ball during the annual ‘Fastern Eve Handba’ in Jedburgh’s High Street in the Borders. The annual event, which started in the 1700s, took place yesterday and involves two teams – the Uppies and the Doonies – getting the ball decorated with ribbons to either the top or bottom of the town.
