Football boss survives being shot in ‘targeted’ hit
An attack in which a junior football manager is believed to have been shot is being treated as attempted murder.
Paul Mccoll was found with what were believed to be gunshot wounds in Cadoc Street, Cambuslang, about 8:50pm on Wednesday.
It is thought he was the victim of a “targeted attack” a short time earlier and then made his way to the Kirkhill Bar in Cadoc Street where emergency services were called.
The 48-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment, where medical staff described his condition as stable.
Mr Mccoll has been manager of Cambuslang Rangers for the past three seasons.
Police are investigating whether a car found burnt on nearby Turnlaw Road about8:55pmwasinvolved in the incident.
