Pensioner builds bin barricade to stop rogue cars

A pensioner has built a barricade of wheelie bins to stop work vans parking outside his home.

Angus Macphee, from Oban, took the action after repeatedly seeing the “old people’s complex” car park filled with trade vehicles.

The 69-year-old said elderly residents were struggling to find spaces for their own cars and relatives had nowhere to park when visiting.

He said: “They’ve just been causing chaos – 12 hours a day is a long time.”

Mr Macphee, a former bouncer and publican, said the issue stemmed from a school being built nearby.
