What’s the last piece of clothing you bought?
A woollen tunic from M&S. In fact I bought three in different colours because they’re cosy and warm, but stylish.
What are you addicted to buying?
Interesting handbags and shoes (preferably handmade, with contrasting colours).
Best ever bargain?
A pair of striped rainbowcoloured leggings that I got for £1 in a market, as well as a striped top in fuchsia, purple and black bought for £1.50 in a thrift shop over 30 years ago.
Who has great style?
Zandra Rhodes. I have been a great admirer of her imaginative designs ever since she caught my eye years ago.
Name your favourite high street shop.
Marks & Spencer, with additional accessories from shops aimed at the younger shopper. Children’s clothes are especially appealing. I only wish they made them in my size.
Any fashion disasters
you’d care to tell us about?
Buying off the internet can create problems as actual sizes vary, and when I put them on I look like a stuffed sausage. That’s why I invariably go for looser styles which I can layer.
What’s your favourite item in your wardrobe?
One is a purple loose-fitting top which I bought from Ragamuffin on Skye. I wear this over a turquoise dress that I got in a sale in a Portree gallery. I team these with any one of my many pairs of colourful leggings which I have acquired over the years. n
