Strathallan school

What has made you proudest in the past 12 months?

The 1st XV rugby team winning the U18 Scottish Schools’ Cup at Murrayfield in December with the whole school in attendance – everyone involved in Strathallan was behind the team throughout the cup run – pupils, staff, parents, governors and alumni (including those in the Scotland team). There was genuine delight for the team, the vast majority of whom arrived at Strathallan aged 13 or younger making the achievement all the more special for everyone who had worked hard over many years with the players.

What is your favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

After six days in the office and after morning chapel, something practical and outdoors is needed – chopping wood for the fire, gardening, DIY or a long family dog walk – all finished off with a Sunday roast and a nice glass of wine. If there is time, I’ll read one of the several books

I have on the go at any one time. Mark Lauder, 50, is married with two teenage sons who are both at Strathallan. His teaching subjects are history and English.
