What has made you proudest in the past 12 months?

How the St Mary’s community has contributed to the support of several superb charities and fundraising events. These include Cash for Kids, the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, Children’s Hospice Association Scotland, and the Doddie Weir charities. Pupils, parents, staff and governors have all played their part in developing imaginative and inspiring ideas to raise funds and awareness of these charities. This spirit of generosity is very much in keeping with the ethos of St Mary’s and the wider Scottish Borders community.

What is your favourite way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

A family walk with Oscar our yellow Labrador who is a much loved member of the St Mary’s community. We have several Borders routes to choose from, taking in views of the rolling hills and the River Tweed. Liam Harvey, 49, who teaches history, is married with two teenage daughters.
