Wright tells players ‘forget Parkhead’

- By GAVIN MCCAFFERTY

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has told his players that their draw with Celtic last week is irrelevant ahead of the visit of Ross County.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers questioned the Saints players’ commitment in lower-profile matches after they took a second point from Celtic Park this season.

Saints have not won in the Premiership since beating Rangers at Ibrox in mid-december and Wright knows a game against a side unbeaten in two matches and battling at the bottom poses a challenge in itself.

“Last week has gone,” he said. “Last week can’ t get us anything .“it’ s a totally different set of circumstances. We are at home, where we haven’t been great. We are playing a team that is more direct than Celtic and dangerous at set-pieces with the amount of tall players they have.

“It will be a different set of problems and one we have got to get better at dealing with. We have dealt with a set of problems that Celtic presented last week but this week is a totally different game and we have to be ready for it.”
