Kurdish leader held over car bomb attack
Czech authorities yesterday arrested a former leader of a Syrian Kurdish political party wanted by Turkey over a 2016 car bombing that killed 36 people.
Deputy prime minister Bekir Bozdag said Turkey requested Salih Muslim, former co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), be detained for extradition after he was found in a Prague hotel.
Czech police said they had arrested and placed a 67-year-old foreigner in detention at the request of Turkey’s Interpol.
Mr Muslim had been put on Turkey’s most wanted list in connection with the car bomb attack.
