Worn turbines

-

In 2001 Holyrood’s first scientific adviser, Professor Wilson Sibbett, warned that the claims of a 25year lifespan for wind turbines was a gross overestimate.

He said that onshore turbines would start to wear out after about a decade and the offshore variety much sooner.

Professor Sibbett’s onshore estimate has proved to be correct, and now the Danes are replacing their offshore blades because they are worn down after just a few years at sea.

All the talk about wind power becoming the cheapest energy on the market was just the usual green lunacy.
