Inspectors ask court to shutdown care home

- By ANGUS HOWARTH

The Care Inspectorate has applied to a court to close down a care home in order to protect the health and safety of residents.

The owners of Greenlaw Grove Care Home in Newton Mearns were served with a formal improvement notice in August last year.

However, the Care Inspectorate said sufficient progress had not been made and have applied to Hamilton Sheriff Court to have the home shut down, siting an “unacceptable quality of care, leadership, staffing and environment”.

A spokesman for Greenlaw Grove said any families whowereconcernedabout the situation should get in contact.

He added: “We’re sorry for the distress experienced by families during this time, and we will provide every assistance to anyone who wishes to relocate relatives.”
