Lewis swimmin’

-

Graham Barker Would love to know how many people have been charged with doing 25mph.

Ken Williamson Based on reviews from other schemes, it is likely there will be a decrease in speed and this will lead to safer streets. It is good to see this starting to be confirmed by proper analysis in Edinburgh.

Samantha Lang These figures are absolutely amazing as I drive in Edinburgh every day and have still to see anyone doing 20mph anywhere .

Brian Stewart I very occasionally see a car doing less than 20mph, but everyone else overtakes them at the first opportunity, and they are driving so slowly that they almost become the cause of an accident. It’s good news that accident figures appear to have fallen but I think it unlikely to be because of the 20mph limit.

Louise Wilson It’s a simple commonsense fact that someone hit by a car doing 30mph is more likely to die than if that car were travelling at 20mph. As a motorist myself, I’m glad this restriction’s in place.

Gerry Farrell wishes of the Free Church. Lewis will come to its senses, religion is no longer our master, we now have free will to choose for ourselves. Indeed, if it wasn’t for those who wanted to break with tradition, then Protestant churches would never have been.

mediaone If the people who would have to work on this day refused, fine, but if some are willing to open the pool then why should they be stopped by intolerant religious fanatics?

Jim Thomas Can you go swimming in Saudi Arabia on a Sunday? If yes, it would be time for the campaigners to flee the island in search of a better life. Religious or not, Sunday has become like every other day, which is not necessarily a good thing. You have to have a break from the treadmill once in a while.
