It’s a mystery

-

Viewers of Scottish-set murder mystery drama Shetland were left angry on Tuesday, after this week’s episode was delayed due to the showing of the Sheffield Wednesday vs Swansea City FA Cup match. Typical! Another example of us being treated like second class citizens!

Moureen Macmillan BBC should be renamed EBC.

Will Maxton The FA Cup is time sensitive. The conspiracy-driven Nationalists are just plain sensitive. As well as being technology Luddites who can’t use the iplayer.

Dweller Slightly incorrect. The FA Cup is just plain dull. The rest of your comment is spot on ....

Donald Stirling I see nothing wrong with it, what’s all the fuss about? It’s not being done because some guy is sitting in an

office with a Scottish voodoo doll poking it and purposely hating Scotland and trying to annoy people. What have we become? Could there be a more whining nation than Scotland? Our international image is that of a small barking dog that is never happy, it’s becoming embarrassing.

mediaone Isn’t this the series in which the populace of Shetland have been mysteriously replaced by sundry members of the Weegie Repertory Company?

Andrew Moray Can you see that happening down south, say Aberdeen v Raith Rovers being shown across the UK? They would go mental in England.

Don Cowie For goodness sake, they do it for English soaps as well and whilst you do get people complaining they don’t break out in a frenzy of xenophobic rage.

Arch Stainton Those responsible for scheduling follow a process. Part of that process is understanding what people want to watch – they are duty bound to meet the needs of the majority where circumstances demand and take account of oneoff events of interest. It’s a balancing act. For a nonracist Scot, a match between an English and Welsh team has the same interest as a game between an Ayr team and a Dundee team. We tend to not differentiate and see no borders or race or nationality.

Sparts If a TV drama rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday is the most important issue in your life then you don’t really have a life.
