Viewers of Scottish-set murder mystery drama Shetland were left angry on Tuesday, after this week’s episode was delayed due to the showing of the Sheffield Wednesday vs Swansea City FA Cup match. Typical! Another example of us being treated like second class citizens!

office with a Scottish voodoo doll poking it and purposely hating Scotland and trying to annoy people. What have we become? Could there be a more whining nation than Scotland? Our international image is that of a small barking dog that is never happy, it’s becoming embarrassing.

Part of that process is understanding what people want to watch – they are duty bound to meet the needs of the majority where circumstances demand and take account of oneoff events of interest. It’s a balancing act. For a nonracist Scot, a match between an English and Welsh team has the same interest as a game between an Ayr team and a Dundee team. We tend to not differentiate and see no borders or race or nationality.
Sparts If a TV drama rescheduled from Tuesday to Wednesday is the most important issue in your life then you don’t really have a life.
