Aberdeen Too much respect

-

It’s frustrating now sitting through games against some of the teams in this league. I can see where the manager’s thinking originates; cede possession in harmless areas, look for fast counter attacks but concentrate on playing tight at the back and not conceding. All great tactics employed, on the whole, successfully in European games over the past four years. We are not playing in Europe, though, and too much respect is being given to teams that would struggle to cope with our normal tactics and formations. The manager must realise that taking the game to these teams has been shown to work by the numerous other teams in our league who, no disrespect intended, are not as good as us.

The approach in the next couple of games must change or we’ll continue to struggle.
