Queens faced Dunfermlin­e in the final fixture of last season to decide who would finish fifth in the table. If Saturday’s match was anything to go by, this will again be the height of either team’s ambition.

A draw wasn’t really much use to either side, but it was the most either deserved. Whether this was down to a lack of quality or a lack of belief is open to debate, but neither team threatened to take control of the game. As the home side this was more disappoint­ing from our point of view. Poor home form has been a theme throughout Gary Naysmith’s tenure in charge, as has an inability to put a consistent run of results together. These are the main reasons why the play-offs once again look beyond us.
