Blacksmith’s yard targeted by thieves in raid

Police have launched an appeal for information following a theft from a blacksmith’s yard in Arbroath last month.

The raid occurred in the town’s Wardmill industrial estate between 4:30pm on 25 February and 11 am the following day.

The thieves stole a number of items, including two lorry leaf springs, as well as 12 industrial floor gratings, two brake drums and two wheel hubs.

Police said some of the stolen items were large and heavy and would have required at least two people to remove them from the yard.
